On January 15, 2017, Corenzo Blakely, a 21-year-old resident of Chesapeake, Virginia, was tragically shot and killed. The incident occurred near the railroad tracks on Berkley Avenue, close to the border of Norfolk and Chesapeake. According to police reports, Blakely was walking with a companion when a silver Honda Accord approached them. Shots were fired from the vehicle, hitting Blakely, who later succumbed to his injuries at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
