On a cold December night in Richmond, Virginia, the lives of two young men were tragically cut short. Anthony Josiah Jones, a 20-year-old male, and his companion, 21-year-old Dwayne Fredrick Frazier Jr., were discovered inside a vehicle in the Creighton Court neighborhood on December 17, 2017. Both men had sustained gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Richmond Police were initially called to Bunche Place for a report of a person down.
Upon their arrival, they made the grim discovery of the two victims. The case was immediately classified as a double homicide, and Major Crimes Detective J. Fultz was assigned to lead the investigation. The bodies of both men were sent to the Medical Examiner for autopsies to officially determine the cause and manner of death.
Anthony Josiah Jones, known for his kind and caring nature, was a graduate of Henrico High School. He had a passion for music, especially rap, and dreamed of one day owning his own business refurbishing sneakers to give back to his community. He was a beloved son and brother, and his family remembers his love for his mother's home-cooked meals and his interest in technology.
Dwayne Frazier Jr. was a 2014 graduate of Highland Springs High School and had furthered his education at the Universal Technical Institute in North Carolina. He was working as an auto mechanic at a local repair shop and had a love for cars and playing the drums. He was remembered by his family and friends as a considerate and loving individual.
Despite the ongoing investigation by the Richmond Police Department and pleas to the public for information, the double homicide of Anthony Josiah Jones and Dwayne Fredrick Frazier Jr. remains unsolved. To date, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with their deaths. The community continues to mourn the loss of these two young men as their families await justice.
