Bruce Clayton, a 44-year-old Black male from Richmond, was shot late on the night of September 19, 2025, in the Hillside Court public housing community. Police were dispatched just before midnight to the 1600 block of Lone Street, where officers found Clayton suffering from gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene. A 16-year-old boy was also shot and taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
