In the city of Norfolk, Virginia, a promising young life was abruptly cut short on March 19, 2018. Daemon Vauchon Person, a 15-year-old male, was found inside his home on Corprew Avenue, located across the street from Norfolk State University. Emergency responders discovered him unconscious and not breathing; he was pronounced dead at the scene. The news of his violent death, later attributed to gun violence, sent ripples of shock and grief through his community.
