In the early morning hours of July 5, 2018, the body of 55-year-old Allan Wright, a male resident of Danville, Virginia, was discovered lying in the yard of a home on Clement Avenue. Police were called to the 200 block of the street just after 7 a.m. and found Wright deceased at the scene. The subsequent investigation by the medical examiner would later determine that he had died from a gunshot wound. His death was ruled a homicide, prompting an investigation by the Danville Police Department.
