In the early evening of May 19, 2021, a dispute between two teenagers in Danville, Virginia, escalated to a fatal conclusion, leaving one family mourning and a community shaken. Jontavious Logan, a 19-year-old male, was found lying on the sidewalk of the Purdum Woods Apartments with a gunshot wound to his chest. Despite the immediate efforts of civilians and police officers who administered CPR at the scene, Logan succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a local hospital.
