In the early morning hours of July 21, 2018, a passing driver on Route 3 in Richmond County, Virginia, discovered a red pickup truck stopped in the roadway. The driver witnessed a man exit the truck, run, and then fall into a nearby ditch. That man was later identified as 28-year-old Edwardo Jerel 'Jay' Garner of Farnham. When law enforcement arrived, Mr. Garner showed no signs of life and was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene from two gunshot wounds to his neck.
