On a Sunday evening in March 2018, the life of 48-year-old Damon L. Tucker was tragically cut short in Richmond, Virginia. Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1100 block of North 29th Street at approximately 7:37 p.m. and found Tucker unresponsive, having sustained an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Tucker was a resident of Henrico, living in the 4600 block of Greatwood Drive.
The investigation into the shooting quickly progressed, leading to
the apprehension of two suspects within days of the incident. With the assistance of the U.S. Marshals' Regional Fugitive Task Force, Richmond Police detectives arrested 60-year-old Michael C. Robinson of the 1200 block of West Leigh Street. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
Shortly after Robinson's arrest, authorities also apprehended 27-year-old Brittany L. Garrett of the 2000 block of Creighton Road. She was also charged with conspiracy to commit murder in connection with Tucker's death. Investigators indicated that additional charges for both suspects were pending as the investigation continued. The police department encouraged anyone with further information about the homicide to come forward.
