In the early morning hours of November 1, 2020, a house party in the Dale City neighborhood of Woodbridge, Virginia, turned into a scene of violence that claimed the life of 25-year-old Frank Chineji Sapele. The gathering, which took place at a residence on Bristol Court, was disrupted when an argument escalated into a physical altercation. The conflict led to a man brandishing a handgun and firing multiple rounds into the crowd of partygoers.
Sapele, an Arlington resident, was fatally wounded in the shooting and was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man, 24-year-old Christopher Alan Johnson of Alexandria, was also killed in the incident. Two other individuals, a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The sudden eruption of gunfire transformed a festive Halloween party into a tragedy, leaving two families to mourn the loss of their loved ones.
The investigation into the quadruple shooting led Prince William County Police detectives to identify Karriem Angelo Jackson, then 26, of Reston, as the suspect. An investigation revealed that Jackson had been involved in the initial altercation at the party. Following the dispute, he was asked to leave the residence, at which point he opened fire on the attendees. On November 5, 2020, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force located and apprehended Jackson in Fairfax County without incident.
Jackson was subsequently charged with two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of aggravated malicious wounding, and four counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. In August 2025, a jury found Karriem Jackson, then 31, guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated malicious wounding, four counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and one count of maliciously discharging a firearm in an occupied building. His sentencing was scheduled for December 5, 2025.
