In the summer of 2022, the life of 19-year-old David Madison Fowler III was tragically cut short in a burst of violence in a Woodbridge, Virginia, shopping plaza. A male, Fowler was known for his charismatic smile and a sense of humor that could make your belly ache. He had a passion for boxing and football, and a knack for climbing that earned him the nickname 'Spider-Man' among his younger cousins.
On the afternoon of June 14, 2022, Fowler and a friend arranged to meet with several other individuals at the Cheshire Station Plaza. The purpose of the meeting was reportedly a drug transaction. At some point during this encounter, the situation escalated dramatically. One of the men, later identified as 18-year-old Angel Alfonso Morales Flores, pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots, striking Fowler in the upper body.
In the chaotic moments that followed, the shooter and the other men with him fled the scene in a car. Emergency responders rushed Fowler to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
The investigation into the homicide led police to identify Angel Alfonso Morales Flores as the primary suspect. On July 6, 2022, Morales Flores turned himself over to the authorities. He was subsequently charged with homicide, using a firearm in the commission of a felony, and conspiracy to violate the drug control act. Following his arrest, he was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
