In the evening hours of September 13, 2025, a violent altercation in Woodbridge, Virginia, claimed the life of 35-year-old David Kapay Kallo. The incident unfolded in the 13700 block of Telegraph Road, where an argument escalated to gunfire. When Prince William County Police officers arrived at the scene around 7:00 PM, they discovered Kallo suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of fire and rescue personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed that Kallo, a resident of Fredericksburg, had been involved in a physical altercation with two other men. As Kallo attempted to walk away from the confrontation, he was fatally shot. A second man, a 27-year-old, was also struck by gunfire during the incident. He managed to flee the scene and was later found at a nearby restaurant with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities believe the shooting was not a random act of violence.
In the days following the shooting, detectives identified and arrested two 18-year-old suspects. On September 16, Jordy Lopez Campos of Woodbridge was taken into custody. He was subsequently charged with murder, aggravated malicious wounding, and two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. The second suspect, David Omar Benitez Martinez of Dumfries, was arrested on September 19. He faces a felony accessory charge of principal in the second degree to the commission of a felony. During the arrests, investigators recovered narcotics and multiple firearms. Both suspects were held without bond.
