In the early morning hours of May 30, 2016, a single act of violence cut short the life of 23-year-old Johnnie Pablito Kamara in Woodbridge, Virginia. The young man was in the parking lot of a hookah bar located in the 300 block of Golansky Boulevard when the sound of gunfire shattered the night at approximately 2:20 a.m. Responding officers discovered Kamara suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency services rushed Kamara to a nearby hospital, but his injury proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead. The shooting, which occurred as the establishment was closing, prompted an immediate investigation by the Prince William County police. A section of Golansky Boulevard was temporarily closed as detectives processed the scene for evidence. At the time, this tragic event marked the 10th homicide in Prince William County for that year.
Despite the passage of time, the case of Johnnie Kamara's death remains unresolved. Years after the fatal shooting, law enforcement continues to seek information from the public that might lead to a breakthrough in the investigation. No arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the murder.
