On May 26, 2023, a tragic shooting occurred at a residence in the 14700 block of Birchdale Avenue in Woodbridge, Virginia. During a gathering inside the home, an attendee brandished a firearm and began shooting, striking four men. Among the victims was 37-year-old Edwin Geovanny Salmeron, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other men, aged 41 and 23, succumbed to their injuries shortly thereafter, while a fourth victim, aged 21, sustained serious injuries but was expected to recover.
