Erek Lamarr Wright Jr., a 15-year-old from Newport News, Virginia, tragically lost his life on August 1, 2019. Erek was a varsity football player at Heritage High School and was known for his vibrant personality and athletic prowess. On the night of his death, Erek and his friend, 18-year-old Tyree Spady, were found with gunshot wounds at the Heritage Forest Apartment Complex. Erek was pronounced dead at the scene, while Tyree succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
