On December 1, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Newport News Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 700 block of Gloucester Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered three male victims inside an apartment, each suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, identified as 23-year-old Jesus Cartier Hamilton of Hampton, Virginia, was pronounced dead at the scene.
