In the early morning hours of a Sunday in Richmond, Virginia, the life of Hector Menjivar-Chulo, a 42-year-old man, was brought to a sudden and violent end. On August 18, 2019, at approximately 9:13 a.m., police were called to the 4500 block of Old Warwick Road following a report of an assault. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Menjivar-Chulo in the roadway, suffering from a gunshot wound.
