On the night of September 23, 2019, a 34-year-old Black man named Deontay Brown was fatally shot in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The incident took place at approximately 10:55 p.m. in the Central Park Townhomes neighborhood, located in the 800 block of Denton Circle. Officers from the Fredericksburg Police Department responded to reports of shots fired in the area and, upon arrival, discovered Brown in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.
