Janene Kellam, a 47-year-old resident of Newport News, Virginia, tragically lost her life on October 24, 2019, in a shooting incident. The Newport News Police Department responded to a call at a residence on the 1300 block of 24th Street at approximately 10:03 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Janene Kellam with a gunshot wound, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. A man, who was also present at the scene, sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
