In the early morning hours of August 29, 2021, the life of Evita Natasha Wilkins, a 27-year-old Black/African American woman, was tragically cut short in Newport News, Virginia. Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 13200 block of Aqueduct Drive just before 2:30 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Evita suffering from serious injuries. She was quickly transported to a local hospital, but tragically, she succumbed to her injuries.
