On a winter morning in Newport News, Virginia, the life of 24-year-old Quinaya Brown was tragically cut short. On December 28, 2016, police responded to a call of a shooting just after 7:30 a.m. at a residence on the 1200 block of 21st Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Ms. Brown on the lower level of the home, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
