A promising young life was cut short in Danville, Virginia, leaving a community searching for answers. Xavier N. Carson, a 19-year-old male, was fatally shot on the evening of Tuesday, November 26, 2019. The incident occurred at an apartment complex located at 623 Edmunds Street, where police responded to a report of a man shot in the chest around 5:45 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Carson suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Sovah Health, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the death of Xavier Carson moved swiftly, and within a day, authorities had a suspect in their sights. Danville Police identified 18-year-old Traquon L. Allen, also of Danville, as the individual responsible for the shooting. An arrest was made, and Allen was taken into custody in North Carolina. He was subsequently charged with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Following his arrest, Allen was awaiting extradition back to Virginia to face the charges brought against him in connection with Carson's death. The case then moved to the Virginia judicial system for prosecution.
