Carl Douglas Buchanan, aged 41, was tragically murdered on November 22, 1983, in Danville, Virginia. Buchanan was an employee at a Fast Fare convenience store. In the early morning hours of that day, he was shot and killed during a robbery. The assailant, Johnny Watkins Jr., committed the crime in an attempt to obtain money, ultimately fleeing the scene with a mere $34.73, including a $2.00 bill whose serial number was recorded.
