In the quiet community of Naola, Virginia, a grim tragedy unfolded on September 15, 1987, forever altering the lives of the Buchanan family. On that day, Douglas Buchanan Sr., his 31-year-old wife Geraldine Patterson Buchanan, and their two young sons, 13-year-old Donald and 10-year-old Joel, were brutally murdered in their own home. The architect of this horrific event was a member of their own family, Douglas McArthur Buchanan Jr., the 19-year-old son of Douglas Sr. and stepson of Geraldine.
