In the late autumn of 2015, a series of events unfolded in Danville, Virginia, that would tragically end the life of 23-year-old Deron Lanard Evans. On November 23, Evans, a male resident of the city, was shot in the leg. The injury was serious enough to require hospitalization, and he was admitted to the Danville Regional Medical Center for treatment.
