Ashley James, a 19-year-old former basketball player from Green Run High School, tragically died on March 2, 2020, in Chesapeake, Virginia. The incident occurred late at night when James and another adult male were handling a handgun inside an apartment on Montauk Lane. According to the Chesapeake Police, the gun accidentally discharged, striking James. Despite receiving emergency medical care, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
