On a Sunday afternoon in March 2020, tragedy struck in the Gilpin Court neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia, forever altering the lives of a local family. Antonio Brown Jr., a 28-year-old Black man and devoted father of four, was found inside his car in the parking lot of the Tiger Mart on Hill Street. He had been shot multiple times in the early afternoon of March 29, 2020, in a violent act that ended his life and left his young children without their father.
The investigation into the
shooting led to the apprehension of two suspects. Travis Thomas and Gregory White were arrested and faced legal proceedings for their roles in the death of Antonio Brown Jr. The case moved through the justice system, though not without challenges, including delays attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic and a reported lack of cooperation from witnesses.
