On December 25, 2013, 25-year-old African American male Adam Jamal El was fatally shot in Richmond, Virginia. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Old Nicholson and Fulton Streets in the city's East End. Responding to reports of gunfire, Richmond Police officers discovered El's body at the scene, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities indicated that the shooting did not appear to be random.
