On August 22, 2020, 22-year-old April Lee Logan was found deceased in her Newport News, Virginia, home in what police have described as a domestic-related incident. Officers responded to a call for an unspecified problem at the residence on Blackwater Way around 7:30 a.m. There, they were met by Matthew Allen Coglio, who claimed a gun had accidentally discharged while he and Logan were watching firearm safety videos.
