VanTerry Maurice Fields, a 50-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the evening of August 27, 2020, in Richmond, Virginia. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at a 7-Eleven convenience store situated at the intersection of Chamberlayne Avenue and Azalea Avenue. When Richmond Police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Fields suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite emergency medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at the location.
