On a late summer day in Richmond, Virginia, the life of 20-year-old Kyre E. Smith was tragically cut short. On September 2, 2020, just before noon, police responded to the harrowing sound of gunfire in the 2200 block of Halifax Avenue. Arriving at the scene, officers discovered a grim tableau: two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. One of these men was Kyre E.
