In the late hours of a Wednesday evening, the life of 18-year-old Connall Jackie Mullins was tragically cut short. On September 16, 2020, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Mullins, a male resident of King George County, was fatally wounded in a shooting. The incident occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. in the 2500 block of Carriage Lane. Emergency services received multiple calls reporting gunshots and responded to find two individuals with bullet wounds.
Both victims were quickly
transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Sadly, Connall Mullins succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The second victim, who was also shot, survived the attack with non-life-threatening injuries. Mullins, born on March 29, 2002, had graduated from King George High School just the year before his untimely death. Those who knew him remembered a kind, thoughtful, and loyal young man with a passion for science and math.
Following a thorough investigation into the homicide, the Fredericksburg Police Department identified a suspect. On October 1, 2020, authorities arrested 20-year-old Jordan Reed, also of King George County. It was reported that Reed and Mullins were acquaintances. Reed was taken into custody and held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
Jordan Reed faced multiple felony charges in connection with the shooting. These included second-degree murder for the death of Connall Mullins, aggravated malicious wounding related to the second victim, and two counts of the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. In a separate matter, Reed was also identified as a suspect in a robbery that had taken place in Stafford County on August 31, 2020, for which he faced additional charges of robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
