On Christmas evening, December 25, 2020, the life of 29-year-old Dresean LaMarta Porter, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Norfolk, Virginia. Around 8:30 p.m., the sound of gunfire disrupted the holiday peace in the 800 block of Tyler Street. When Norfolk police officers arrived at the scene following a report of a gunshot disturbance, they found Porter suffering from a significant gunshot wound. Despite any potential efforts to render aid, he was pronounced dead at the location.
