In the early morning hours of April 3, 2021, the city of Portsmouth, Virginia, was the scene of a grim discovery that would mark the untimely end of a young man's life. Anthony Norman, a 32-year-old Black male, was found near the intersection of Airline Boulevard and Frederick Boulevard suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Police had responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 4:41 a.m. and, upon their arrival, found Norman grievously injured.
Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tiron Wallace, a 25-year-old man from Portsmouth, was taken into custody by the Portsmouth Police Department with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals. Wallace was arrested without incident and subsequently charged with felony murder in connection with Anthony Norman's death. While the arrest marked a crucial step in the case, authorities continued to emphasize that the investigation remained active and ongoing as they continued to gather evidence.
