Lakisha Smith, a 46-year-old woman from Portsmouth, Virginia, was tragically killed in a shooting on the night of November 24, 2021, just hours before Thanksgiving. The incident occurred around 10:40 p.m. on Rodgers Place, near the intersection of George Washington Highway and Victory Boulevard. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Smith with a fatal gunshot wound. Neighbors reported hearing about ten gunshots following an argument.
