In the quiet city of Hopewell, Virginia, the life of 17-year-old Orlando Monroe Jr. was tragically cut short on the evening of Thursday, February 3, 2022. Just after 8 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the peace in the 800 block of Spruce Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered an unresponsive male suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of Hopewell Fire and EMS, Orlando Monroe Jr. was pronounced deceased at the scene.
