In the early hours of September 22, 2024, the sound of multiple gunshots shattered the quiet of the 1200 block of High Avenue in Hopewell, Virginia. When Hopewell Police officers arrived at the scene around 12:05 a.m., they discovered numerous shell casings scattered across the roadway, a grim indication of the violence that had just unfolded. The immediate aftermath of the shooting revealed two victims who had been struck by the gunfire.
