In the early hours of a Wednesday morning in Hopewell, Virginia, the life of 23-year-old Javon T. Stith was tragically cut short. On April 24, 2019, Hopewell police responded to calls of shots fired in the 100 block of South 8th Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Stith's body near a playground; he had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
