In the late summer of 2019, the life of 21-year-old Jaequan Lamonte Johnson, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Hopewell, Virginia. On the evening of August 29th, police responded to a report of a shooting in the 900 block of Arlington Road. Upon their arrival, they discovered Johnson suffering from severe gunshot wounds. He was rushed to John Randolph Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
