On the night of Friday, February 27, 2026, a report of a man shot on the 300 block of East Cawson Street in Hopewell, Virginia, prompted a police response at approximately 11:15 p.m. Officers arrived to find a male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to Tri-Cities Hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
