William I. Moore, an 83-year-old retired sergeant from the Norfolk Police Department, tragically passed away on February 28, 2022, in his home in Norfolk, Virginia. Moore, who had served the department from 1965 to 1997, was found dead following a double shooting incident that also left a 63-year-old woman critically injured. The incident occurred in the 9200 block of Phillip Avenue, and the call to the police came in around 8:20 p.m. on the night of the shooting.
