In the early hours of June 8, 2022, a distressing call was made to Henrico Police. The caller, Robert Martin Seward, stated that he had shot someone on Picnic Road, near Battlefield Park Road. When officers arrived at the scene, which was located on U.S. National Park Service property, they found 36-year-old Brandon Keith Temple suffering from life-threatening injuries.
