In the early afternoon of September 7, 2022, the life of 39-year-old Alexander J. Hayes, a male resident of Norfolk, Virginia, was tragically cut short. Responding to a report of a gunshot victim, police arrived at the 8000 block of Diggs Road around 2:10 p.m. to find Hayes suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
