In the early morning hours of October 8, 2022, the life of 23-year-old Richard Tony-Naszell Bell Jr., a Black male, was tragically cut short in Newport News, Virginia. Police responded to a call of gunshots in the first block of Colony Square just after 2 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Richard on the ground, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
