On December 17, 2023, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Newport News police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1100 block of 28th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 29-year-old Godfrey Junior Davidson outside, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Tragically, Davidson was pronounced dead at the scene.
