Laran Tarel Strawter, a 26-year-old United States Navy serviceman, tragically lost his life on March 1, 2014, in Newport News, Virginia. Strawter, originally from Tifton, Georgia, was found with a gunshot wound to his upper body at an apartment on Madison Avenue. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on March 2, 2014.
