Shayne Amani Capehart, a 15-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on October 14, 2022, in Newport News, Virginia. He succumbed to his injuries and passed away the following day. At the time of his death, Shayne was a student at Heritage High School and was known for his love of roller skating and basketball, as well as for the joy he found in spending time with his friends.
