In the autumn of 2022, a life was tragically cut short in Richmond, Virginia. Imani Hill, a 26-year-old Black/African American woman, died on October 14, 2022, following a shooting. The incident that led to her death unfolded outside Westover Hills Elementary School in the afternoon.

Hill sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital in a personal vehicle, where she succumbed to her injuries. Another individual, an adult male, was struck in the head with a firearm during the confrontation.
In the wake of the shooting, a juvenile male was taken into custody. The 17-year-old, who is reportedly a relative of Hill, was initially charged with malicious wounding, possession of a firearm by a juvenile, and possession of a firearm on school grounds. These charges were later upgraded to include murder, attempted robbery, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
