On July 7, 2023, in Charlotte, North Carolina, 42-year-old Santavius McBride was found deceased in her home on Foxford Place, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound. The discovery was made around noon by one of her sons, who immediately contacted emergency services. Santavius was a mother to four boys.

Within an hour of the 911 call, her 23-year-old son, Marques McBride, approached officers at the Independence Division Patrol Office, expressing his desire to turn himself in for the shoot ...
