In the early morning hours of September 23, 2020, a tragedy unfolded in Richmond, Virginia, that cut short the life of 46-year-old Rosalind P. Gibson. At approximately 2:45 a.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the quiet of the 1100 block of North 25th Street. When Richmond Police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Gibson lying unresponsive on the sidewalk, having sustained a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
