In the early morning hours of a Sunday in Camden, New Jersey, the life of 24-year-old Armir Thomas Money was cut short. On November 9, 2014, in what was reported as one of two fatal shootings to occur in the city within a two-hour span, Money was shot and killed.
Authorities reported that the shooting happened shortly before 4:40 a.m. near the intersection of Front and Vine streets. When police arrived at the scene, they did not find a victim. They soon learned that Armir Lee Thomas-Money had been taken to a local hospital in a private vehicle. Having sustained a single gunshot wound, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the hospital.
Born in Trenton, Armir had moved to Mount Laurel as a teenager and graduated from Lenape High School. He was employed by the Sysco Trucking Company in Philadelphia at the time of his death.
