On a Tuesday evening in Camden, New Jersey, the life of 18-year-old Rafael Antonio Vicente III was tragically cut short. On March 22, 2016, at approximately 8:45 p.m., the sound of gunfire echoed in the area of the 1300 block of Kaighns Avenue, prompting a police response after a gunshot detection system was activated. Arriving at the scene, officers found Vicente inside a vehicle that had crashed.
He had been shot multiple times.
Emergency services transported the young man to Cooper University Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Rafael Vicente succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead that night.
